About Denali

The person who designs it is there when it’s built.

Denali Pools & Outdoors is a design-led pool and outdoor living company based in Nashville. We design backyards for homeowners across the country and build them with our team in Middle Tennessee.

Our story

Designed with a landscape architect’s eye. Built by one team.

Denali was founded on a simple idea: the person who designs your backyard should still be there when it’s built.

Will Melton brings a background in landscape architecture and years of hands-on pool, masonry and hardscape construction to every project. Most companies hand a design off to someone else to build. We don’t. The same team that draws the plans walks the site, sets the forms and hands you the keys to the gate.

“What you approve on paper is what gets built, with no handoffs in between.”

Will Melton studied landscape architecture and started out designing entire backyards. When he moved into pools, he saw how much better a backyard could be when the grading, the slopes, the transitions and dozens of small details are designed together and built with the same care.

In 2024 he founded Denali Pools & Outdoors to do exactly that, with one team that designs the backyard and builds it. Today, with more than 20 years in the trade, Will still designs every project himself.

What we believe

Four rules every project follows.

They’re the reason clients trust us with their homes.

Design before dirt

Every project is modeled in 3D and settled on screen before a shovel hits the ground. No guesswork in the field.

One team, start to finish

The people who design your backyard are the people who build it. Nothing gets lost in a handoff.

Built for how you live

We start with how you want to use the space, from weeknight dinners to summer weekends, and design around that.

No surprises

Clear plans, clear pricing and a clear schedule. You always know what’s next and what it costs.

On site, every day

We don’t design it and disappear.

From excavation to the last paver, our team handles the pool, masonry, hardscape and lighting. Will is on site through every phase, so the details in the drawings make it into the ground.

The team

The people behind every backyard.

A small team on purpose. You’ll know everyone who works on your project by name.

Client words

“Our backyard has been beautifully and skillfully transformed… Our yard is a showplace with two stone retaining walls, a beautiful extended patio, a gas firepit and more. The built in lighting in the walls is magical.”

Jamie P.

“Will and his team showed up every day, and were courteous throughout the entire project. They exceeded expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.”
